What is a dog park bar? It’s essentially paradise for you and your pup! Think about it - how many places are there in Columbus where you and your dog can have a great time? Public dog parks are like the wild west; you never know if an unfriendly dog is going to show up and cause chaos. Plus, there’s nowhere to sit, get a drink, stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter, or use the restroom. Trash cans are overflowing, you’ll probably step in something yucky, and half the time the dog park isn’t even open! The other option is a dog-friendly patio. While you have fun with your friends, your dog is tied up on a leash in the same spot for hours. At a dog park bar, you can say goodbye to all of these problems. Grab a drink with your friends, read a book, or get some work done while your pup unleashes all of their energy in our 10,000 sqft turf dog park. You can finally relax because you know that your dog is safe, happy, and having the time of their life - and so are you!

Where are you located?Bumble’s Backyard is located in Columbus, Ohio at 1280 Brown Road in South Franklinton.

What is required for my dog to enter the park? You can check out our "Join the Pack" page under our "Visit Us" tab for all of the information you need, but here's the lowdown: All dogs must be social and non-aggressive. Additionally, all dogs must adhere to the following requirements: Dogs must be up-to-date on their Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper vaccinations (typically DHPP or DAPPv). You must bring proof of these vaccines to your first visit or upload them in our membership portal prior to visiting. Dogs must be spayed or neutered if over 1 year old. Dogs must not be in heat. Dogs must be flea and tick free. Dogs must pass a temperament test on site during their first visit. Pretty much, if a dog daycare requires it, so do we!
-
How much does it cost to bring my dog to Bumble’s Backyard? We sell day passes, month passes, and annual memberships for pups. All of the details can be found under the "Visit Us" tab on the "Join the Pack" page.

Is Bumble’s Backyard an indoor or outdoor park?Bumble’s Backyard is completely outdoors. We did lots of research when building the park and found a few reasons why indoor dog parks aren’t ideal: They are less sanitary than outdoor parks. They can teach dogs bad habits, such as doing their business indoors. They have more corners that create an unsafe environment for people and dogs. We are committed to making your experience at Bumble’s Backyard a comfortable and fun one. In the summer, we will have lots of shade and refreshments for you and your pup. In the winter, we have hot beverages and a fully covered and heated tent for you to hang out in. All seating areas will be cleared of snow and moisture as best as they can, and we hope to offer hand warmers and blankets, too!
-
Will you be open all year? That's the plan! We'll be open year round regardless of the weather, unless weather conditions make it unsafe for us to open or ask our employees to come to work. In the colder months we will have a covered and heated tent area for humans and pups to stay warm. Umbrellas and other coverage will provide shade and protection from rain as well. Our dogs need to play no matter the weather, so we will be open for them all year!
-
If I don’t have a dog, can I still come?YES! Whether you’re a dog-less dog-lover or you’re visiting/living in Columbus away from your pup, you are welcome to visit Bumble’s Backyard and take advantage of some free dog therapy. You do not need a membership to come to the park without a pup!
-
What does a Barktender do?Our Barktenders make sure that rules are being followed, keep up on park cleanliness, and maintain a calm, safe, and positive play environment. They help you and your dog feel at home when you visit Bumble's Backyard! However, our Barktenders do not pet sit. Dog havers should relax and have fun, but also monitor and clean up after their dog(s) as much as possible.
-
Can I leave my dog at Bumble’s Backyard? No. We are not a daycare; you must enter and leave the park with your dog. Our Barktenders are present to monitor the behavior of all dogs and maintain a clean park, not to pet-sit.
-
Can I bring my child to Bumble's Backyard? We love kids, but Bumble’s Backyard is a place for dogs. Children 14 years and older can visit Bumble’s Backyard with parent or guardian supervision only. We allow babies as long as they can be held during your park visit. We do not allow strollers. The main reason that we do not allow children under 14 is because of our insurance policy. The entirety of Bumble's Backyard is off-leash for pups to roam, meaning there is not a separate area for kiddos to hang out. Plus, we have no idea how the pups who visit Bumble's Backyard behave around children. We plan to host family days — stay tuned for an update on when those will be held!
-
What kind of drinks and food do you offer? We are proud to serve local craft beers from Columbus breweries such as Wolf's Ridge, Nocterra, Thunderwing, and more. We also serve handcrafted espresso beverages brewed with local One Line coffee beans. We have some N/A options as well! Check out our "Park Info" page under the "Visit Us" tab to find our full menu. But wait, there’s more! As you may know, Bumble’s Backyard was formerly an ice cream shop called Double Happy, where we made the best (and only) homemade soft serve in Columbus. We’ll continue to serve delicious soft serve, milkshakes, and sundaes seasonally. We will not serve any food at Bumble’s Backyard to keep the pups on their best behavior. No food, treats, or toys are allowed in the off-leash area. There is great Mexican food and pizza across the street from Bumble’s Backyard that you can enjoy outside of the park.
-
Can I book a private event?Yes! Check back soon to access our calendar where you can book birthday parties (for you or your pup!), office outings, private dog group meetups, and more.
-
Do you have wifi?We sure do! You can access our wifi network at any corner of the park. Why WFH (work from home) when you can WFBB (work from Bumble’s Backyard)?
-
Are there any breed restrictions?Absolutely not. All socialized and vaccinated dogs are welcome to play at Bumble’s Backyard.
-
Is there a small dog area? There is not a dedicated small dog area at Bumble's Backyard. We plan to host small-dog focused events in the future. Our Barktenders are happy to work with you and your pups if you are wary of your small dogs playing with dogs of all sizes to help your pups warm up to the space!
-
Are the plants at Bumble’s Backyard safe for dogs?Of course! Details on specific plants to come, but rest assured they will all be non-toxic for the pups.
